To know that backhand shots are generally slower, less powerful and less accurate than forehand shots.
To be able to use the correct basic backhand technique (inc. grip, body position & footwork) to return the shuttle over the net. To be able to outwit opponents using the backhand. To understand that it is more effective to play the shuttle into space away from your opponent.
