KS2 Dance Scheme of Work

KS2 Dance Scheme of Work

I want the students to be able to use and create basic movement and gesture to begin to communicate actions to simple motifs, actions, moods and visual stimuli. The students will start to show a
range of levels, directions, relationships and dynamics in their movement phrases and should incorporate each of these into their dances, sequences and motif developments (with help and
guidance). Students should begin to work individually, in pairs and in small groups to overcome motivation and confidence issues. They should start to develop basic skills and awareness about
others, actions, space and principles used within Dance. They should start to learn how they can use relationships, motifs and transitions in the movement phrases and short performances to an
audience. From this they should gain confidence to perform their short dance routines in front of an audience, as well as being able to observe and appreciate the work of others.
